    Free time…… وقت الفراغ

On school days I don't get long free time because of too much homework I have to do. I usually get two free hours every day. Then I can do what I like. I thing that watching T.V programmers is more interesting than watching video films. In my opinion, I think reading magazine is enjoyable and it's boring to read books and newspaper. I like to spend my holiday with my family; we usually go together to shopping center and some times to the cinema. On weekend, I prefer to visit my friend and spend lovely time with hear in her house.

    Wild life……الحياه في البريه

Whales are found in most seas, but all the large species of whales are in danger of becoming extinct. Although whales are protected by the international agreement, they are hunted by the whaling countries Japan, Norway and others for their oil and whale's oil and musk, pet food and fertilizers. How caught whales are cashed by fast catcher boats then are killed with weapons, guns. After that they are taken to factory ships.\Finally they are cut up $$$$$d and turned in to oil.

    Childhood memories.........ذكريات الطفوله

When I was eight I used to live in the same house as I do now. ALi, Mohammed, and Noor used to be my best friends. I used to like chocolate, Pizza and ice cream, but I didn't used to like fish or rice and I never used to drink milk. Barbie used to be my favorite toy, which I like to spend long time playing with it. The water garden, Adari park and Salmania park used to be my favorite places. //But I used to hate to go to school and hospitals. When I was little I used to like riding bikes. Swimming and watching T.V and I always wanted to be a doctor.

    Responsibilities at home……المسؤليات في المنزل

Every person in this world has lots of responsibilities to do and I am one of them. For example I have to look after my little sister and help my younger sister with her homework. I also have to give my father the shopping list and I have to do lots of homework. Some times I have to help my mother with $$$$$ng and shopping but I don't have to wash the dishes or to clean the garden. In my opinion I think it's good to have responsibilities because this will help me in future when I have my own houses and kids.\ I don't always fulfill my responsibilities because I sometime have lots of homework to do. When this happens my mother shouts at me.

Disobedience to Parents: A Major Sin
It is the right of parents that their children should treat them with kindness, obedience, and honor. The rights of the mother are stressed the more because of her suffering during pregnancy and childbirth, her suckling of the child, and her role in rearing it. Islam emphasizes treating parents kindly, especially when they grow old. The Prophet (peace be on him) declared disobedience to parents to be a major sin, second only to ascribing partners to Allah, as has been stated in the Qur'an

    الـ HONESTY أو الأمانة

Honesty is the value of speaking truth and creating trust in minds of others. This includes all varieties of communication, both verbal and non-verbal. Honesty implies a lack of deceit. A statement can be strictly true and still be dishonest if the intention of the statement is to deceive its audience. Similarly, a falsehood can be spoken honestly if the speaker actually believes it to be true.

Honesty can be displayed to others, and to oneself.

Honesty is typically considered virtuous behavior, and has strong positive connotations in most situations. A principal reason for this may be that honesty simplifies communication, in that honest statements can be trusted at face value, not necessarily as true, but as genuinely believed. Additionally, honesty helps to form bonds of trust in human relationships.

    التأثيرات السلبية على الاطفال ..
The negative effects of T.V on children topic

Television became dear friend for children. These days they prefer it more than friends. After request from people to doing study on public opinion, they found strong relationship between children and television. The study showed that 70% of the children regardless of gender and age watching television daily , also showed that 74% of children aged between 8 - 12 years are watching television three to four hours or perhaps more per a day.
Television programes like a sharp knife, so we can get some benefit, in contrast we can get Damage . However television programes can be help to development of knowledge and awareness of the world, which also helps children to education and entertainment. also they found it a source of fun and comfort. All these are Possible if the television programes manage by educated people.
In addition, television plays a very important role in the upbringing of children, nevertheless there are many negative aspects of television, many journalists, doctors, teachers and specialists in sociology, they often take a negative attitude from television program. Yes, television is Good instrument, but on the other hand it is a danger encourage bad habits and qualities in the child's personality.
In fact Television programes’ have negative side effects on the daily lives of people especially for children. There are many negative impacts of television on: school, psychological disorder, anxiety, eliminating many of the activities and events, reducing the relationship between the child and the family and violence.
In the end, I offer my advice to Taking caution from foreign television programmes’ because it is violates many of the habits In the societies and affect individual and society.

    المرأة والمهر

    women anddowry
My presentation is dividedin to three parts. First, I am going to talk about what does dowry mean?? Second, I am going to talk about the history of the dowry. Final point is whatproblems can dowry causes in the society??
Let’s begin with the first point which is what does dowrymean??
A dowry is the money, goods, or estate that a woman brings to her husband in marriage. It contrastswithbrideprice, which is paid tothe bride's parents, anddower, which isproperty settled on the bride herself by the groom at the time of marriage. Dowry is an ancient custom, and its existence may well predate records of it. In certain societies the dowry formeda part of an exchange of wealth between intermarrying families. The dowry mayalso serve as insurance against bad treatment of the wife by the husband; itmust be forfeited to the wife or wife's family in case of divorce. The wife maynot deprive the husband of its control, and he, on the other hand, is bound toprotect the property that he receives asdowry.
Let’s move to the second point which is history of thedowry
Originally, thepurpose of a dowry was to provide "seed money" or property for the establishmentof a new household, to help ahusbandfeed andprotect his family, and to give the wife and children some support if he were todie. From the time of ancient Greek and ancient Roman and oldest availablerecords such as code ofHammurabidowrywas described as an already-existing custom. the usualGreekpractice wasto give abridepricebecause theythought that women like any goods can anyone sell or buy her. For ancientEuropean societies, the fathers gave the dowry for their daughters in theirmarriage day because they believed that encourage the men to marry theirdaughters. Although the Jews code status as a condition paying the dowry fromthe groom to the bride to complete the marriage, some Jews families appointedsome of fathers heritage to give them for the grooms family as a gift. ForAfrican society, they concerned the dowry as price for the bride the groom payit as compensation to her father. However, Muslim community has differentoverview for the dowry. the groom give the bride the dowry which express for hisrespects and his estimation for her and to proving for brides independencebecause the dowry is its own and she can spend it wherever she want.
Let’s move to the final problemwhich is the problems which can be caused because the dowry.

Many of the provisions of the dowry in Islam andin many other religions have changed due to the infiltration of cultures. Most European countriestoday, does not require a dowry at marriage whether the dowry to the husband orfor him. As well as some Asian countries banned dowry and set penalties forthose who demand dowry during the marriage because of the resulting problems andissues in the community. Because the dowry is still dealing in the Muslimcommunity I will focus on how the dowry in the past and now, and what are theresulting problems caused by this changes. In the past, brides family requesteda small amount of money and the costs of marriage wedding even if it isexpensive the father never ask the groom to pay more. Actually before 20 yearsfrom now the groom gave the brides families household instead of the money. Nowthe case has changed dramatically. The bride’s father doesn’t ask for a hugeamount of money but he also require to pay for all expenses of marriage. Thiscaused the inability of young people to marry women from the Gulf and then ledthem to marry a young Arab women or from any other nationality, and at the endthe spinsterhood abounded in the Gulf countries.

    النساء في عمان

    Women In Oman
My presentation is divided in to two partsfirst I am going to talk about Omani women in the past and now. Second point is, how Omani women influence the political and business fields.

Lets began withthe first point which is Omani women in the past and now. If we talk about Omaniwomen in the past we can’t say that Omani women didn’t have any role in thesociety. The historical of Omani women is also the history of Omani societybecause she played many roles to build the traditional and believes thatdistinguishes Omani society from any country. If we want tostand on the fact of Omani women, we should go back to rural life at home andnomadic life, too which Omani women were live in to learn to personality ofOmani women which were not one day restricted freedom or living between fourwalls without any aims. Although Omani women didn’t have the educationalresources that would enable them to having place in public life, she shared themen in politics, business and social life. For example, she worked in farms asmany other Omani men, cultivate the soil and return back to her house to feedher children. With the progress and development Omani women has also developedherself with support from the government and their families. In 1970 as SultanQaboos became the president of Oman, he concerned with position of Omani women. Therefore, he provided the women all specific need from education to propertyand the right to work. As we can see now many of Oman women hold specialposition in politics or business and even in social life that what I am going totalk about.

Let’s move to the second point which is how Omani womeninfluenced public life of politics and business. His majesty continued toimprove the women position in Oman and therefor he enable them to enter thepolitics fields such as state council, The nomination and stand for election and Development ofmodern state institutions. For example, from 2002-2003 there were 5 women instate council and that emphasized Sultan Qaboos trust of Omani womenIn the capacityand efficiency to carry out the responsibilities of national participation atthis high level. Because of these opportunities for education, health and socialcare and the training and employment opportunities , Omani women have been ableto occupy a large area in different areas of work and production. She alsobecame able to hold significant position. As we can see now, there are threeministers for high education, tourism and social development. Omani developmentdidn’t limit in politics but also it includes business field. The participationof Omani women in the fields of economy is important and with active involvementin the community. They play major role in the development of all sectors of workand was able to demonstrate their capacity and efficiency. Omani labor marketwitnessed an increased contribution of Omani women in economic activity andlabor force in recent years. Despite an increase in women entrepreneurs in theregion, but there are still many opportunities for entrepreneurs are stillavailable to Omani women should work on investment. Emphasizing of the majorrole of women in Oman in business fields Came the first gathering ofentrepreneurs Gulf, which was held in Muscat last year as a call to broaden theparticipation of Omani women in particular and Gulf women in general of theFederation of GCC Chambers, which aims to support the economic role of women inthe Gulf. also the project "Development of rural women" one of the developmentprojects sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in cooperationwith the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development which is concernedprimarily with the development of rural women in the Sultanate of Oman.

    women`s movement

    Women`smovement
Mypresentation is divided in to three parts:

    *

    Traditional ideas aboutwomen

    Historical background of women`s movement
How women`s movementeffected public life of business andpolitics

Lets began with thefirst point which is traditional ideas about women.

Archaeologicalevidence from Europe and the Middle East has suggested that Stone Agecivilizations practiced goddess worship and were organized asmatriarchiessocial orders with women in charge. However, from the timeof the earliest written records, these civilizations had been overtaken bypatriarchal cultures that worshiped male gods and in which men were political, religious, and military leaders, and women were kept in subordination. In thetime of the ancient Greeks and ancient Romans and in the early Christian era, women were excluded from public life and were made subordinate to men. Forexample, Greek philosopher Aristotle argued in hisPoliticsthat womenwere inferior to men and must be ruled by men. Saint Paul told Christianwives to obey their husbands and not to speak in church.
In most societies throughout most of thesecond millennium, women were deprived of property, education, and legal status. They were made the responsibility of their husbands if married, or of theirfathers or other male relatives if not. Throughout much of the history ofWestern civilization, deep-seated cultural beliefs allowed women only limitedroles in society. Many people believed that women’s natural roles were asmothers and wives. These people considered women to be better suited forchildbearing and homemaking rather than for involvement in the public life ofbusiness or politics. Widespread belief that women were intellectually inferiorto men led most societies to limit women’s education to learning domesticskills.
let’s moveto the second point which is historical background of women`s movement.

Until the 19thcentury, the disagreement of equal rights to women met with only occasionalobjection and drew little attention from most people. Because most women didn’thave the educational and economic resources that would enable them to challengethe general social order, women generally accepted their inferior status astheir only option. At this time, women shared these disadvantages with themajority of working class men, as many social, economic, and political rightswere limited to the wealthy elite. In the late 18th century, in an attempt toremedy these inequalities among men, political theorists and philosophersemphasized that all men were created equal and therefore were permitted to equaltreatment under the law. In the 19th century, as governments in Europe and NorthAmerica began to draft new laws guaranteeing equality among men, significantnumbers of women—and some men—began to demand that women be accorded equalrights as well.
Historically, feminist thought and activity can be divided into twowaves. The first wave, which began in about 1800 and lasted until the 1930s, waslargely concerned with gaining equal rights between women and men. The secondwave, which began in the late 1960s, has continued to fight for equality but hasalso developed a range of theories and approaches that stress the differencebetween women and men and that draw attention to the specific needs ofwomen.

Now let’s talk aboutthe final point which is how women`s movement influenced public life of politicsand business. When we talk about women and politics we can focus on right ofwomen to vote or women suffrage. In 1894 the women of South Australia won theright to vote, making them the first women of a British colony after New Zealandto do so. In 1902 the new commonwealth government extended that right to allAustralian women. Many other countries allowed women to vote such as Californiaand Mexico. For Arabian countries, the right to vote were forbidden until the 20th century when some women in Kuwait began to demand the equal right to votebetween women and men.
Middle-class women and progressive reformers shared common goals. In theprogressive era, women made great advances in higher education, the professions, and women’s organizations. By 1910, for instance, when about 5 percent ofcollege-age Americans attended college, about 40 percent were women. Activistwomen joined organizations such as the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, awomen’s volunteer service organization founded in 1890. The National ConsumersLeague (1899) and the Women’s Trade Union League (1903) spearheaded efforts tolimit women’s work hours and to organize women in unions. College students readWomen and Economics (1898) by feminist intellectual Charlotte PerkinsGilman; college graduates worked in settlement houses; and homemakers joinedwomen’s clubs to promote civic improvement. Reformer Florence Kelley led thecharge for child labor laws and other measures to protect workers. On the left, anarchist Emma Goldman, birth control advocate Margaret Sanger, and feministCrystal Eastman promoted aspects of women’s rights.
